Meet the Therapists

Kathy D Borsuk, NCTMB, CMT, of Lawrenceville, NJ, graduated from Somerset School of Massage Therapy in Piscataway, NJ (SSMT).  Shortly after graduation, she returned to the school as a teaching assistant and later lead instructor. 

Kathy is trained in numerous massage modalities, including: Swedish, Myofascial Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy and Sports Massage.  Kathy specializes in Prenatal and Postpartum massage.  She is certified to teach “Baby’s First Massage” instruction to families, and is currently working on a certification in Reflexology. 

In addition, Kathy is a products trainer for Mama Mio Skincare, is a Birth Doula (professional childbirth assistant) through DONA International, and is the web designer and administrator for the American Massage Therapy Association, New Jersey Chapter. 

Once a month, Kathy volunteers her massage services to the guests of the Center for Great Expectations in Somerset, NJ. 

Penny Bussell Stansfield, NCTMB, LMT, CMT, CD(DONA) of Belle Mead, NJ, comes to us via England, France, and Arizona.  She is a graduate of the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts , located in Tuscon, Arizona. 

She is a certified childbirth educator, a professional childbirth assistant (known as a "Doula") and is a certifed Doula Trainer.   She teaches workshops in high end spas nationwide for Mama Mio, a luxury skincare group of products.  Click Here for an article detailing Penny's Doula training and experience. 

Penny is the author of "Labors of Love: A Doula's Birth Stories", which offers rare, first-person glimpses of how the birthing process unfolds in our hospitals.

Penny's specialities include Prenatal (pregnancy) Massage, Senior Massage, and Hospice Massage.  As in Penny's very successful Tuscon practice, she also offers various types of Deep Tissue Massage and Relaxation Massage.  Penny developed and teaches our "Fabulous Massage" Workshops offered by us in our office and is also Certified to teach Infant Massage.

Debby Teal, NCTMB, CMT, of South Bound Brook, NJ is a graduate of Cortiva-Somerset School of Massage in Piscataway, NJ.  Immediately following her graduation she became a Teaching Assistant and Supervisor of the Student Clinic.

In addition to providing Swedish Relaxation and Integrative Massage Therapy, Debby is also trained in Myofascial (Deep Tissue), Sports Massage and Prenatal Massage.  Debby has taken advanced classes in Thai Massage with Herbal Packs and Aromatherapy including the Raindrop Technique.

Debby has been elected to serve as a Delegate of the NJ Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association for a two year term beginning in 2010.  She has also recently joined Penny & Stella in their volunteer work at Great Expectations located in Somerset, NJ.

Gary Verhoorn, NCTMB, CMT, of Neshanic Station, NJ is a graduate of SSMT in Piscataway, NJ.  He is an accomplished athlete, having finished 44 marathons since 1991.  He has competed in hundreds of sporting events including the Ironman Triathlon, the Boston Marathon, the Marine Corps Marathon, the Chicago Marathon, and the New York City Marathon.  Gary has also been a volunteer Massage Therapist at Ironman Lake Placid.  

Gary has directed several of Central New Jersey's finest charity footraces, including the New Year's Day Resolution Run 5K & Walk,in Hillsborough, NJ.  He has helped organize and direct the Run With Aimee 5K footrace and supports its sucessor race, the Run With Rotary 5K and 1 Mile Ramble, held the last weekend in April in Montgomery Township, NJ.

He brings his athletic experience and knowledge to Massage Therapy.  His specialties include Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, NMT, Swedish Relaxation and Integrative Massage.  Gary is a Certified Reiki II Practioner.  Gary also has advanced training and extensive experience in CranioSacral Therapy as taught by the prestigious Upledger Institute.  Get more information about CranioSacral Therapy.
